chloe tickner is a freelance artist and traditional signwriter working in london. in her personal work she is inspired by the places she travels to and enjoys capturing them in enamel paintings on wood and with various printmaking methods and techniques; such as lino cut and monoprinting.
“ i draw inspiration from cloisonnism & synthetism which can be seen in my use of bold and flat forms separated by dark contours and in my aesthetic considerations of line, colour and form. i like to play with the reality of what i’m seeing to show the viewer my feelings about the subject. in my paintings i use signpainting techniques to create sections of colour. my linocuts are influenced by my love of japanese woodcut prints and the original vintage pan american airways posters. overall in my work, i enjoy exploring my love of patterns and lines”.
